This 2 Day Keystones of Strategic Leadership Workshop is the only course based on the science of strategic leadership endorsed by Dr. John Pisapia. In this workshop you will learn how to think and act like successful strategic leaders. Dr. Pisapia, and his team of certified trainers, use research, and compelling real-world examples from their consulting and research in profit and nonprofit settings to make the Keystones habits of Strategic Leadership - Agility & Artistry - come alive. You will leave this workshop well-armed to think and act like a successful leader!
ATTENDEES should be in positions, or aspiring to positions, where leading and managing teams, units, and or organizations in business, government, military, fire and police departments, education, and health care where leadership is crucial to success.
On July 12, 2011.You will learn how to think in a strategic way! After an overview of the strategic leadership system by Dr. Pisapia, you will assess your ability to use the research verified meta-cognitive skills of Strategic thinking to support your rise in the organization and/or help you to reposition your organization, or your life for success.
Dr. Linda Ellington, Professor of Business at Palm Beach Atlantic University and will facilitate your learning how to use each of the three cognitive skills of strategic thinking – Systems Thinking – Reframing - Reflection.
You will look into the mirror and be able to compare your skills to those from over 8 different countries and at every level of the organization. Then you will learn how to use these skills to create a shared reality and a shared direction that you will write down on a 1 page strategic plan.
The Tools:
#1 The Strategic Thinking Questionnaire (STQTM) is a fully research validated tool that enables you to discover the way you use systems thinking, reframing, and reflection to process information, interpret your world, and find and/or create the future.
#2 The Strategic Thinking Protocol is a field tested process that enables you to use Strategic Listening and Strategic Conversations to identify Challenges and Opportunities provided by your organization/unit/team envirionment
#3 The One Page Statement of Intent, is a powerful tool that enables you to describe direction, drive alignment, and assure results. This simple tool answers 4 questions: What do others expect of us? What do we expect of ourselves? Where are we going? How are we going to get there? The Statement centers your organization/unit on common direction.

On July 13, 2011 You will learn to work in a strategic way by assessing your ability to apply the five research verified actions of effective leaders: Transforming, Managing, Bonding, Bridging, and Bartering to reach the hearts and minds of your staff, develop a cohesive culture, and execute organizational direction so you achieve long term, not random, success.
You will look into the mirror and compare your ratings to successful leaders who have taken the SLQ and develop a growth plan to continue your development. At the end of the day you will learn how to use these skills to align your team/unit/organization and assure that organizationally intended results are achieved.

Tool #4 The Strategic Leadership Questionnaire (SLQTM) is a fully research validated tool that enables you to use Transforming, Managing, Bonding, Bridging, and Bartering behaviors to lead and manage your organization, your team, and yourself.
Tool #5 The Strategic Execution Protocol is a research verified dynamic tool that enables you to build the conditions that support high performance. You will learn to set clear goals and measure them, teach the organization's point of view, empower, recruit for cultural and performance fit, make learning a priority, and tie rewards to contributions.

John Pisapia, Professor of Leadership Studies at Florida Atlantic University Dr. Pisapia developed the philosophy, system and way of thinking and working as a strategic leader through his global research and consultation. These principles, assessment tools, and research are captured in his book: The strategic leader: New tactics for a globalizing world published in 2009 which is noted as a top 5 Business Book by the Washington Post.

LODGING
Hotel accommodations are the responsibility of the registrant. Registration cancellations:
Cancellations received 60 days before the event are subject to a $100 processing charge.
